Why Choose The Evacu-Trac CD7?

It is the chair fire officers keep recommending for one reason: nothing on it can run flat, seize or need charging. The passenger's own weight drives the descent and a hydraulic governor keeps the speed under control.

⏱️

Patented Speed Governor

A hydraulic governor caps descent at about 1.1 m/sec for a 100 kg passenger, so the chair never runs away from the attendant. Track tension can be adjusted for lighter or heavier passengers.

🛑

Failsafe Brake

The brake is on unless the attendant holds the release bar. Let go for any reason and the loaded chair stops and holds itself on the stairs automatically.

🏋

Small Attendant, Heavier Passenger

Gravity does the work, so a lighter staff member can safely bring down a passenger of up to 136 kg. Your warden roster no longer depends on who is physically strongest.

🔗

Rubber Tracks Grip Any Stair

Continuous tracks grip concrete, stone, tile, metal and fitted carpet, spreading the load across several steps instead of bumping down one at a time.

🚾

Retractable Auxiliary Wheels

Front and rear wheels let the chair roll across landings and corridors, so moving between flights takes seconds. It stays stable and self-supporting on flat ground.

📦

Folds To 270 mm Deep

Folded it is slimmer than a fire extinguisher cabinet and weighs 20 kg, so it can sit in a stairwell cabinet on every floor rather than one unit for the whole building.

Indicative pricing starts at around ₹1,85,000 for a single unit including delivery and on-site operator training. The final figure depends on quantity, stairwell cabinets, AMC cover and delivery location — institutional rate contracts and GST invoicing are available. We confirm the exact price after the free site survey.
No. The CD7 is a descent-only chair — the passenger's weight drives it down and the governor controls the speed. If you have basements or below-ground levels to evacuate upward from, you need the motorised Garaventa Powertrac instead. Many buildings use both: Powertrac at basement stairwells, Evacu-Trac on upper floors.
Up to 136 kg (300 lb) of passenger weight. Because gravity and the speed governor do the work rather than the attendant, a lighter staff member can bring down a considerably heavier passenger.
No. The CD7 is entirely mechanical — no motor, no battery, no charger. That is its main advantage over powered chairs: there is nothing to run flat between inspections, and it is ready during a total power failure.
A patented hydraulic speed governor limits descent to roughly 1.1 m/sec (3.6 ft/sec) for a 100 kg passenger. Separately, a failsafe brake engages the moment the attendant lets go of the release bar and holds the loaded chair on the stairs. Track tension can be adjusted if you regularly carry much lighter or heavier passengers.
It suits straight stairs of concrete, stone, tile, metal or fitted carpet, up to roughly 35°. It must not be used on curved or spiral stairs, irregular or insecure stairs, or stairs with loose carpeting, and extra caution is needed on wet stairs. Our engineer confirms this at the free site survey.
That depends on your fire strategy — typically one per evacuation stairwell or one per refuge area. Because the CD7 weighs only 20 kg and folds to 270 mm deep, many sites fit a cabinet on every floor rather than sharing one unit across a whole tower.
Yes, and it is included. Only trained personnel should operate the chair. We run hands-on training on your own stairs at handover, and Garaventa recommends monthly practice sessions so wardens stay confident with a device they may rarely use.
Very little. Inspect the tracks and straps periodically, keep the tracks clean, and have the brake cable and track tension checked annually. Vingrace offers an Annual Maintenance Contract covering inspection and replacement parts, and the unit carries a 15-year manufacturer warranty.
