How much does the Evacu-Trac cost in India?
Pricing starts at around ₹1,85,000 per unit including delivery and on-site training. The final figure depends on quantity, cabinets, AMC and location. Rate contracts and GST invoicing are available.
Can it go up the stairs too?
No. It is descent-only. For basements or below-ground levels, you need the motorised Garaventa Powertrac. Many buildings use both.
How much weight can it take?
Up to 136 kg (300 lb). Gravity and the governor do the work, so a lighter staff member can bring down a heavier passenger.
Does it need power or a battery?
No. It is entirely mechanical, so it is ready even during a total power failure.
What stops it going too fast?
A hydraulic speed governor limits the speed, and a failsafe brake holds the chair on the stairs when the attendant lets go.
Will it work on our staircase?
It suits straight stairs up to about 35°. It must not be used on curved or spiral stairs. Our engineer confirms this at the free survey.
How many units does a building need?
Typically one per evacuation stairwell or refuge area. At 20 kg, many sites keep one on every floor.
Do our staff need training?
Yes, and it is included. We train your team on your own stairs at handover and recommend regular practice drills.
